I'm a planner. And I have to be careful when making something up on the fly because it can completely disrupt the plan. Like what I did this weekend.
I have now officially departed from my outline. I left it on Saturday afternoon, managed 602 words yesterday morning, but only wrote 220 words this morning. And I have only the barest hint of an idea of what is going on, and none at all if today's work makes sense with what I have for the scene already.
I think this next week is going to be all about rewriting this one scene, reworking the outline for it and figuring out what happens in the next chapter.
Wish me luck.
