As those who’ve read the various iterations of my Red King story can tell you, I absolutely love Fall! All the reasons people love Fall--leaves changing color, warm sun and cool breezes, the harvest and fresh produce in the stores.--those are my reasons too.
What people don’t like about Fall is the change in weather. The days grow darker, the warmth of summer fades, and the skies fill with rain. While many don’t like the change for these and many other reasons, for writers the coming of Fall can be a great incentive to sit down and write.
I have been writing all Summer. I haven’t been paying much attention to the blog, but I have been writing. I have completed two more iterations of my Red King story, though only one was a full draft. The latest, Draft 4, is now out to reviewers. I hope to have all the reviews back and edits made within the next month so I can hand out a fifth draft to friends and members of my target audience to read and give me their own opinions on it. With luck, I may be querying agents by next Spring.
As for how Fall is going to affect my writing, I plan first and foremost a return to this blog. I am already thinking of new and exciting topics and, in the Winter, I may try yet again with a serial story (though I am only now beginning to think about it). Further, while I have my first Red King story out to readers I plan to begin writing the sequel. I can’t wait to get started!
What do you plan to do with your writing in the coming months? How will the change of seasons affect your plans?
