I had a bad headache yesterday. One that I was fighting since Monday night. Tylenol helped, but the pain remained, sometimes greater, sometimes less, but always there.
I was able to complete some editing last night and managed to finish the scene in my gothic tale I began on Monday morning. However, I did so by adding only two more lines to what I had written in the morning.
Also, I finally turned on the heater in my apartment. Fall didn't arrive until just a week ago, just before Halloween, and the daily temperatures have been in the 50s (Fahrenheit) ever since with much colder drops at night. The heater works well--though I can't tell if it's on until the heat reaches me--and the combination of it and the Tylenol drove my headache away and allowed me to start on the next gothic tale scene this morning.

What unexpected hang-ups do you encounter in your writing? Not only interruptions from family or friends, but illness, injury and matters that are not run-of-the-mill that take you by surprise and could prevent you from writing. Do you wait these hang-ups out or press through?
