So another month has gone by with no new posts. I'm disappointed with that. However, I haven't been idle this past month. Rather, I've been hard at work and was able to finish Draft 5 of Red King last weekend.
It is such a relief to have a sense of closure on this story. I've written it, rewritten it multiple times (I did say Draft 5, right?) and had lots of reviews from the good folks at SFFWorld.com. There is still a long road ahead, called Publishing, before the book reaches store shelves. Lots more edits to make, lots more rewrites, lots more stuff I can't think of right now or
even imagine.
But I am happy with the story as it stands right now. So I've printed a few copies and given it to friends to read. I'm anxious to hear what they will think but, for now I will wait patiently. And, while I do, I'll work on Book 2!
That's right! I've started Book 2. I have an outline for this one, which I didn't have for the first book. Hopefully that will translate to a faster, smoother first draft than Book 1 had. What it will mean, certainly, is that my writing schedule will be more relaxed than it has been, freeing up time for other things, such as
even imagine.
